Rolex Daytona 16520 “Zenith” Service Papers White Dial Neo Vintage Patina
Up for grabs today is a beautiful Rolex “Zenith” Daytona Ref. 16520. This timepiece has just been fully serviced by Phillip Ridley, a top vintage watchmaker, and includes the paperwork.
Condition is all excellent, and all original. The U-serial indicates 1997 production and the timepiece comes with the MK4 dial with tritium hour markers and original matching hands.
The Zenith Daytonas have always been, and will always be much more collectible than their successors. They were significantly more limited in production due to the reliance on Zenith’s production numbers of the El Primero movements. Rolex made over 200 modifications to the El Primero movement, upgrading them to Rolex specifications. The Zenith Daytonas represent a very cool period in Rolex’s history and were the first Daytonas to be widely appreciated. They are the reference that started the AD waitlist craze, which has never stopped.
